Robert Gilbreath
I'm a fractional executive based in Austin, Texas. I work with B2B SaaS, ecom, fintech, proptech, and AI-powered companies that need senior GTM and marketing leadership, the kind that actually ships work, not just strategy documents.
Most of my career has been spent at the intersection of marketing, product, and operations. I've led teams through product-market fit, go-to-market pivots, channel buildouts, and the messy work of scaling a company when you're growing faster than your processes.
Background
Before going fractional, I spent years in senior roles at companies like ShipStation, where I led marketing and ecommerce strategy during a period of significant growth. I've also worked with marketplace companies, software platforms, and early-stage SaaS businesses in a range of CMO, COO, and CPO capacities.
I understand both sides of the B2B and B2C fence. I know what good positioning looks like, what healthy pipeline metrics feel like, and what it takes to build a marketing organization that isn't entirely dependent on one person or one channel.
How I work
Fractional means part-time, but it doesn't mean distant. I embed with companies, I'm in your Slack, in your weekly leadership meetings, reviewing your roadmap, talking to your customers. The engagement style is flexible, from ongoing fractional leadership to project-based or advisory work, depending on what the company actually needs.
I typically work with two to four companies at a time, which keeps me focused and genuinely invested in each one. Engagements usually run three to six months minimum, though many go longer.
Outside of work
Husband. Father. Austin, Texas. I care about community, building things that last, and finding the right answer to hard problems , whether that's in business or not.
